Poynton Tutorials was founded in 2005 by
Joyce Beasley, a retired Headteacher, with over 40
years in the teaching profession. She has a unique
understanding and knowledge of teaching and of personal one-to-one
tuition, having tutored children from Key stage 1 to Key Stage 4
for the past 12 years.
Joyce is assisted by Veronica O'Connor, who has also spent
many years in teaching. Veronica specialises
in GCSE and 'A' Level English and GCSE Maths. She
has a teaching qualification in Special Needs, and was the Head of
the Special Needs Department in a secondary school in
Sheffield. Veronica is also a Fellow of Hallam
University.
We offer helpful, personal service and a small, but highly
qualified network of excellent tutors who are all CRB
checked.

We have a well-established relationship with
parents – many of whom recommend us to their friends - and
also with local schools. We take a personal interest in all our
students, and actively look to build not just their academic
abilities but also their confidence and motivation.

them overcome any problems they may be experiencing in order to
achieve success.
